AAVI Ministry Accomplishments
We have recently completed 38 Communities, sharing Christ's love through health care, hygiene, providing pure water, all built on the solid foundation of a local, evangelical pastor. This effort was in partnership with USAID, a 20 month project with a budget of approximately $680,000. Some of the wonderful things God accomplished during this intense effort:
** 5,396 people have access to safe water
** 6,470 people have proper sanitation
** 11,797 people have access to primary health care
** 65 health promoters well trained
** 977 small farmers helped
** 209 Community Leaders trained
AAVI was recently featured by Lifeway Press' STAND FIRM magazine, distributed to approximately 1.5 million men across America. In it, then AAVI President Brent Whitehead gave a very insightful quote about the approach to ministry used by AAVI: "Instead of moving in, sharing Christ and moving out, we stay to establish relationships with the people." It's an approach that has worked well, evidenced by the fact that "100% of our water systems are still operating because the people installed them themselves."
STAND FIRM MAGAZINE quoted some awesome statistics about what God has accomplished through AAVI - Living Water:
* 120,000 people helped so far
* 400% Decrease in infant mortality rate
* 80% Decrease in malnutrition
* 300% Increase in # of Christians
