United States Partners AAVI, Inc. is a 501-C(3) not for profit US Ministry, whose purpose is to support AAVI, Inc., a Dominican not for profit Ministry. The US Board of Directors is responsible for maintaining the vision, providing prayer and encouragement, and raising awareness and financial support. Tim Newby, the US President of AAVI, says that the goal is to show the people in the villages served by AAVI that Jesus loves them and wants their lives changed both inside and outside. This is accomplished by equipping and encouraging the local pastors in the rural villages in the Dominican Republic. If a village is to qualify for partnering with AAVI, it must show local Christian leadership that is reaching out to meet the needs of the community. This is the foundation that AAVI will help to build upon, supplying a trained Christian staff of engineers, doctors, pastors, and family therapists. People in the village are trained by AAVI, and they teach their neighbors. Plans are formulated to provide pure water, latrines(90% do not have latrines), and health education. In order for an individual family to receive help, they must sign up for months of training in family health care, as well as commit to help build their neighbor's latrine and fresh water system. |
